FEEDBACK
Great work Joel. upon listening to your final track and viewing your pro tools session for this body of work you have obviously clearly understood the brief and have competently addressed the stated requirements. your routing and bussing was done well also your session is laid out, appropriately named and grouped in a professional manner making it nice and easy to navigate.
your editing was done effectively and seems to express your personality as an engineer. You have done well in observing all of the important processes of an effective mixdown. the track is panned and levelled appropriately and you have used EQ, and FX effectively using Aux channels and parallel processing.
the only thing i found that was lacking would be the overall kick sound. it seems to lack punch or oomph. maybe you could use eq and a high pass filter to drop some of the lower frequencies from some other elements of the track to allow the presence of the drums to be more apparent.

overall your mix was clean and well presented and enjoyable to listen to as a final product. well done and i look forward to seeing your work in the future.
What relevant insights have you learnt or gained after giving feedback on another person’s work?
looking at Joels work gave me some ideas of how to improve my own work in pro tools and prompted me to research and better understand eq and frequency to give an idea on how to improve the work
Do you think the feedback you gave useful? Discuss why or how
I think my feedback was useful. i believe i might have given a useful solution to a problem (as far as my limited knowledge of pro tools could provide) as well as providing encouragement and praise.
Was the peer review (i.e. feedback) you received useful? Discuss why or how
The feedback i received from joel was informed and well thought out. it provided useful comments relating to critical elements that needed addressing and provided me with a clear pathway to improving my work in the future.
